Aims
The aim of the Task Force on Migration, Equity & Diversity is to support member organisations in developing policies, systems and competences for the provision and delivery of accessible, inclusive health care to patients from diverse populations.
To this end, the Task Force has developed a set of Standards for Equity in Healthcare which have been used by over 60 leading institutions and services across 16 countries. The Task Force seeks to help services to take a quality improvement approach to equity by the identification and sharing of good practices and innovative ideas.
Activities
Healthcare services around the world struggle to provide equitable care to the populations they serve, particularly to migrants and other disadvantaged and marginalized people. As employers, these organisations have also sometimes found it difficult to ensure true equality of opportunity for all staff, and to develop a workforce that fully represents the diversity of people in the area they serve. The Standards in Equity of Healthcare offer a tool to help services address these issues.
